Turns out diet and exercise will get you a great body. I thought it had something to do with a radioactive explosion or being born on Krypton. Nope. Amanda here proves it’s possible. I’m still looking for some superhuman will power and motivation though to get my ass in this type of shape.

Tori stopped by the studio recently so that we could photograph a series of rings before she had to submit them for a competition among other artists. Each of the 5 one of a kind rings is inspired by her native Australia. And BIG NEWS! The Arts Guild of Nova Scotia just awarded Tori BEST DESIGN and BEST PIECE. To see more of her stunning work, check out her site: www.torixo.com. Better yet, see this series of rings in person. They are on display for a short time at the Lady Luck Boutique gallery in the Hydrostone Market. Congrats, Tori!

Rosalyn and Ian are a super cool couple and recently engaged. So cool that no matter what I asked them to do – lay in the grass, sit in the dirt… stand a few feet from that moving train – they were good to go. Thanks for a fun afternoon, guys. I’m looking forward to shooting your wedding in May!

How do you bake an excellent peanut butter cookie? Simple…
Start with the important stuff: Peanut Butter. Don’t skimp. Add a colorful tea towel to cheer up the sugar… you’re going to a good home.
Under bake a touch. Trust me. Eat immediately. Cookies are always served best warm with cold milk on the side(I prefer the almond variety but when it comes to photos, heavy cream photographs nicely).
Hot summer day? Sandwich a scoop of vanilla ice cream in between a couple of cookies and roll in chocolate chips. Once again, eat immediately!

Laura Loves Grads: Amanda
Graduating is always exciting! It’s a celebration of hard work, it’s the finale of one period of your life and the beginning of the next, it’s… the dreaded graduation photo. Okay, some people LOVE the formal, ‘Cap and Gown’ in-studio experience. And many do not. But there’s no way around it – you need it! Or so said my parents when my camera shy self tried to avoid the whole experience in high school and again in university.
Face it, you’ll want the classic portrait for your wall, office, or the shrine your parents have dedicated to you in their living room. But you can also let your style, spirit, and personality shine through in a laid back, fun, and natural location. Unlimited outfits, unlimited locations of your choice.
Here’s a recent grad- the lovely Amanda. What a beautiful girl! Amanda capped off her graduation week from King’s College with a short shoot at the studio, then vamped it up for a fun, outdoor session on the waterfront. We checked out the old train by Pier 21 which gave our shots a real vintage feel that really suited Amanda’s style. Love the peacock feather. Good luck in Toronto, Amanda!
