Laura MacPhee used to be embarrassed at the number of books she owned but had never read. Photography, whether documentary, fashion, still life, or portraiture, always fascinated her as both a record of events, and an art form.

After studying in Halifax, she skipped her graduation and caught a flight to New York City. MacPhee apprenticed with renowned shooters and spent many days editing 'Real Weddings' for publication at The Knot magazine. Her passion for reportage-style wedding photography has taken her not only all over the U.S. and Canada, but also Europe and the Caribbean. After returning to Canada, she continued to develop her style and take her work to the next level, focusing on wedding, portraiture, and documentary projects.

Laura MacPhee is based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She enjoys mojitos, Sunday brunches, and continues to buy books for only their photos.
